I couldn’t be happier with this heater I replaced my old Rust pac “Ray-pac” heater with a new Jandy400N and I couldn’t be happier with this heater. It is so much more efficient. The footprint seems to be half the size of my old heater it’s amazing. It heats my spa up in no time at all.
Installed Jandy JXI400N Heater replacing Rheem -- Jandy heater is head and shoulders better than Rheem. Achieves temp quicker and maintains it better. Highly recommend.
It was broken out of the box but Jandy fixed it under warranty and it works great. Very happy with the unit as well as the helpful service desk. It heats the pool really well!
Used about 6 times since installed. Works good excepting would like to have the option to elevate the temperature above the pre set degree when it was initially installed.
We got our Jandy heater at the beginning of summer 2019 and it worked great. It is quieter than our previous heater which I am sure the neighbors appreciate. I just wonder if there is any way to harness the heat from the exhaust vent and reuse it
I've had my pool for 20 years and just put in your heater. It heats fast and raised my 17,000 gallon pool temperature 4 degrees in less than 2 hours. I am very pleased. I have an indoor pool where my dehumidifier does most of the work and the propane heater has now run less than one hour in two weeks and it's October in the DC area. Very pleased so far.
The new Jandy jxi heater is a lot smaller, physically, than my old heater. So, it is less intrusive. It starts heating the water immediately! I haven't seen a new gas bill yet, but I'm sure that it will be an improvement.
My Jandy pool heater is much more efficient than the previous pool heater I had. It is more efficient and heats the water much quicker than my previous heater. I am very happy with it and I like the way it diverts water from the heater when not in use. Saves wear and tear on insides of heater. Very happy with it.
I am using this heater for our separate spa, replacing an older unit. Everything about the heater is as expected - faster heat time plus less gas used and quieter than the prior heater. The cost of the heaterwas surprisingly low, even including installation. The Jandy JXI260P JXi heater is highly recommended!
Great little unit so far. Efficient & quiet. Was hesitant to replace my existing Jandy heater with another one as the old unit never worked reliably. Was assured by our pool guy the JXi line was much more reliable & he would stand behind any repairs. So far, it has been but need a few miles to be sure!
The Jandy JXi Heater 400 Natural has been brilliant. We had the heater installed on 6/1 and have used it every week since. The Jandy is quiet and efficient, heating our pool/spa in under 15 minutes. We love the product and look forward to many more days of "fun-in-the-sun"!
Heater is performing as predicted. Low noise from the blower of the heater. I am using this as a supplement to the 137,000 BTU heat pump . I connected the Heat pump in front of the gas heater. I set the Temperature of the gas heater to 90 degrees max so it cuts out when the pool reaches about 80 degrees and allows the heat pump to continue. ( So the gas unit shuts down when the temperature of the pool + the increase in water temperature when it goes through the heat pump hits 90 degrees. ) The heat pump alone raise pool temperature 1/2 degree per hour. Combining the 400,000 JXI heater and the temperature rise is 4 degrees per hour on a 25,000 gallon pool ( 40 x 20) . This allows me to keep the pool at a lower temperature during the week, and boost the pool temperature early morning on the weekend.
The JXI has a small foot print making it ideal for retrofitting on existing equipment pads. The Versa Flo Bypass is a great feature allowing for increased hydraulic efficiency that will help the overall circulation system and versatility of multiple plumbing configurations. Due to how compact and light the unit is makes for an easy delivery and installation without breaking your back. Strongly recommend to anyone looking to replace or install a new heater for their pool or spa.

For the last 20 years, Jandy has been using a patented technology associating polyamides and titanium, both of which are totally free from the effects of corrosion. Today over 120,000 appliances have been installed without any corrosion defects. If a saltwater chlorination method is being used, it is important to install a check valve between the heater outlet and the salt water chlorinator, to prevent high concentrations of chlorinated water from back siphoning into the heater.
No, it is perfectly possible to heat an “open air” pool without a cover or a shelter. The power and fuel requirements are similar to heating a house with the windows open! This is why we recommend the use of an insulating cover to limit heat loss to the open air when the pool is being heated. A covered or sheltered pool will reduce the amount of fuel needed and reduce the operating cost. Example: A 400 square-foot pool in Tampa, heated to 82F year-round could save 50% on the heating bill just by keeping the pool covered for 20 hours a day.
